The Global Leaders and Professionals Program will be convening a Senior Intensive Workshop this fall. Led by Professor Shruti Rana, the GLPP Senior Intensive Workshop is an 8-week series designed to help SGIS seniors secure a full-time job, land a post-graduation fellowship, or gain admittance to a graduate program. Students selected for this program will meet once a week (Tuesdays, 5:15 to 6:45 pm, 8/21 to 10/9). Our weekly workshops will focus on the nuts-and-bolts of getting your post-graduate position and helping you identify specific career goals and start putting them into action. We will help you expand your network, connect you with employers and career mentors, and help you through the applications process. We will also meet with community and global leaders who will share tips on how to break into and progress in their fields.
This year’s GLP program students were successful in landing post-graduate and summer jobs, internships, and fellowships in a variety of fields including international affairs, business, social justice, and academia. We hope you will join us for our first GLP program focused exclusively on post-graduate opportunities.
Application process: This program is open to SGIS students who will be graduating in fall 2018 or Spring/Fall 2019. We are looking for students who are committed to attending all sessions, are willing to devote several hours per week to their job search outside of their academic course load, and who are interested in working towards their post-graduation goals in a collaborative setting.
To apply, please submit an application packet containing the following:
- A current resume
- Contact information for one academic or professional reference
- A one-page cover letter describing: (1) your post-graduation goals, (2) what you hope to gain from this workshop (for example, specific skills, networking, or help with applications); and (3) any academic or professional experiences you have had that have helped you identify your career goals or led you to pursue your current course of study.
Deadline: Applications must submitted via email by April 23 at 5 pm. Please email applications to Gerard Pannekoek at firstname.lastname@example.org.
