SGIS offers a Bachelor of Arts degree and a new Bachelor of Science degree in the Department of International Studies with concentrations in:

International Communication and the Arts

Global Development

Identity and Conflict

Human Rights and International Law

Diplomacy, Security, Governanc

Students can also prepare for expertise in nearly all world regions through 18 undergraduate majors, minors, and certificates in area studies. In addition to the B.A. and B.S. degrees, new graduate degrees are planned for 2015 and 2017.

The first step for students preparing to enter SGIS is to gain admission to IU Bloomington

Direct Admission

Incoming freshmen with records of academic excellence and a demonstrated commitment to studies in the arts, humanities, languages, mathematics, sciences, and social sciences may be invited to apply for Direct Admission to the College. 

Plan a Campus Visit

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall – we have one of the most beautiful campuses in the world. Campus visits for prospective students are managed by the IU Office of Admissions; in conjunction with the Office of Admissions visits, we offer College of Arts and Sciences information sessions every day of the week.
