Peace Corps Prep Program
Ready to make a positive impact in the world? Complete the Global Service and Peace Corps Prep Certificate! Housed in the School of Global and International Studies the certificate allows students to complete a Peace Corps Prep Program, a partnership between IU and the U.S. Peace Corps to prepare undergraduates for global service. Indiana University is ranked 7th in the nation for Peace Corps volunteers; 1,653 of its alumni have served around the world since the Peace Corps was created in 1961.
By completing the Global Service and Peace Corps Prep Certificate you will:
- Combine undergraduate academic coursework with service-learning opportunities that emphasize community engagement and public service at home and abroad
- Create a comprehensive career portfolio that showcases your civic engagement and global education
- Receive a Certificate of Completion from Peace Corps headquarters in Washington D.C., signed by the Peace Corps national director at the time of your graduation
- Prepare to undertake the Peace Corps application process
The Global Service and Peace Corps Prep Certificate is open to all undergraduate students with ANY major across the IU campus. Peace Corps does not guarantee the opportunity to serve in the Peace Corps, but the program does make IU graduates more competitive for the Peace Corps, or for other service and international organizations.
